Art Cafe
A design exercise in creating a building and lighting scheme with a clear intention of use of space and atmosphere in mind. Other goals included properly lighting art pieces and area, and using layers of light to create an ambient and task efficient space.

Layering Light
I experimented with the concept of layering light by lighting a gallery wall

Just downlights caused the wall to be quite bland and dark

Adding in the wall washer added pleasing scallops to the wall

Tracklights made the most impact in effectively lighting the art pieces.
Challenges
An issue arose with my initial use of the iMAX downlight. Despite using 70 of them in the room, the Fc count was still quite low. I looked for a luminaire with a wider spread and a higher lumen output to see if I could get closer to 50 fc.
